Florida houses are small. Most have no basement or attic and in many cases, no garage. Though my house was sturdily made to stand up to hurricanes, it had very little storage room. For years, even after I had turned the corner on messiness, I was, like Joseph the duck, unwilling to face the facts about how hard things were for me because I lacked storage area. I kept trying to live in an overcrowded house [ my husband and I both use our house for an office ] by packing things in closer, tighter, and more efficiency. Finally, I faced facts and got a ten-by-ten shed. It was absolutely necessary if I were going to stop clunking around the lake the hard way and start swimming efficiently in my house.
